How to choose a gaming monitor

gaming monitor:

1. Resolution

Resolution is very important for any kind of display, because it will affect whether the display’s image quality output is clear and delicate. We also need to consider it when we choose a gaming and e-sports display.

Let’s not talk too much popular science knowledge, you can choose according to this method: 24-inch monitor with 1080P resolution, 27-inch monitor with 2K resolution, etc.

In fact, it is enough to choose the most suitable screen resolution. For example, a 27-inch monitor is actually equipped with a 1080P resolution. It’s not that it can’t be done, but the effect of image quality output will be worse.

2. Refresh rate

For gaming e-sports monitors, we generally mainly play high-brush FPS games, and the requirements for the number of frames per second of the monitor are relatively high.

Therefore, when we choose a gaming monitor, the refresh rate of the screen should be at least higher than 144hz, but it should not be too high, because the higher the refresh rate, the better the performance of the graphics card.

3. Response speed

Response speed is also very important for gaming e-sports monitors.

Because our high-refresh display can refresh hundreds of frames of game screens per second, this requires the response speed of the display to be fast enough, otherwise it will cause blurred, tearing, and freeze problems in the game screen.

The response speed of the display is generally determined by the panel hardware it uses. We will not conduct detailed science here, and share a selection method with you:

IPS panel gaming monitors are preferred, followed by VA panel and TN panel monitors. In fact, we generally choose IPS panel gaming monitors directly.

4. Others

In addition to the above aspects that need to be considered in the selection of e-sports monitors, many e-sports monitors are now equipped with other functions, such as anti-fragmentation synchronization technology, HDR, and even game assistance functions, etc., which can be used as an auxiliary reference method.
